Field observations today matched the avalanche forecast. We observed no signs of instability and no concerns within the snowpack. Snow surfaces are damp on all aspects up to about 7,500 feet and above this elevation, you will find a melt-freeze crust on northerly aspects or in windy areas. Cloud cover increased throughout the day as the first of several waves of holiday precipitation moves inland.

Cloud cover increased throughout the day as the first of many fronts builds into the region. Southerly winds blew light to moderate, with strong gusts above the treeline. Temperatures have been and continue to be above freezing at 7,500 feet.
