We skied the two back bowls and trees of Arethusa Cirque. Most of the area was very wind affected at the treeline and in the alpine. Little Arethusa shoulder was completely stripped of snow by the end of the day. There were steady westerly 60km winds most of the day with 80km gusts. Probing depths varied from 30-90cm in the alpine. You had to choose your lines carefully in order to avoid hidden rocks. The sharks bit us more than once. There where sections of powder that could be found in terrain depressions. The bowl north of Storm mountain had a few natural dry loose avalanches that were likely from the storm earlier in the week (size 1-1.5). Skiing was better below the treeline, but several parties were out on Saturday, leaving the area very tracked out.
