Snowpack

Another low visibility day at Cameron pass, snowed all afternoon but with small icy crystals, accumulated an inch or so in a few hours, the newer snow was very dense, maybe 5-6" more since yesterday, the 8" dense over 8" powder made for slow travel up and down. In a forest opening gully at 10,700' a pit was 155cm nne slope at about 25degrees. Top 20cm failed in 3 taps, the dense and cracking new snow, failed at 40cm with11 taps q2, 50cm at 17 taps q2, a dusty or debris layer at 70cm deep did not fail but a layer below would go at 100cm deep with very hard hits not on test.
