Despite the lack of widespread avalanches there has been reports of natural or skier triggered avalanches everyday this past week. Most of these avalanches were large and surprised the party involved. Conservative decision making is still required.

Isolated wind slabs up to 50cm thick can be still triggered in steeper terrain, especially around ridge crests. See Facebook link below for most recent avalanche activity.
  • Persistent Slabs

    • Sous la limite forestière
    Probabilité

Down 70-150cm, the Valentines surface hoar is producing harder shears; however, several natural and skier triggered avalanches over the past few days shows that this layer is still a concern.
