Avalanche Activity

The prevalence of avalanche prone locations and likelihood of triggering will increase from the late morning.

At elevated altitudes easily released wind slabs formed. On very steep northeast, north and northwest facing slopes and above approximately 2300 m individual small and medium sized avalanches are possible as a consequence of the new snow. The fresh wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant. The meteorological conditions will prevent a substantial strengthening of the near-surface layers.

Snowpack Structure

10 to 15 cm of snow fell in the last few days above approximately 1400 m. The small quantity of fresh snow and isolated wind slabs are lying on a crust.
