Forecast Snow Stability: The reduced snow cover mainly exists in the higher Northerly and Easterly corries. Heavy rain in the early part of the night will saturate the snowpack with surface instabilities likely, a return to cooler conditions by morning will consolidate the older snowpack to generally stable. During the the day, isolated generally avoidable areas of unstable windslab will form mainly in wind sheltered gully exits and East facing scarp slopes. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Mild, wet and windy conditions will affect the area overnight becoming drier and cooler by morning. Day time freezing levels are expected to lower to around 800 metres. Light snow showers through the day will be driven on by strong, generally Westerly winds these decreasing later in the period. Observed Weather Influences: Snow showers overnight on the highest tops were driven on by a strong South-Westerly wind, milder and calmer conditions today with the freezing level just above the summits has given light drizzle at most levels. ObservedSnowStability: The remaining old snowpack is generally stable. Snow showers then drizzle on the highest tops have formed localised shallow surface instabilities in wind sheltered locations such as gully exits, these are generally avoidable.
