Snowpack Structure

5 to 10 cm of snow will fall above approximately 1500 m. The new snow will be deposited on a crust on shady slopes below approximately 2400 m. In all aspects in all altitude zones only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year. Above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Individual weak layers exist in the old snowpack on extremely steep shady slopes.

Avalanche Activity

Some snow will fall over a wide area. 5 to 10 cm of snow will fall above approximately 1500 m.

Low avalanche danger will prevail. Wind slabs can in isolated cases be released by large loads. The avalanche prone locations are to be found especially on extremely steep slopes. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.
