Points saillants

Slight increase in danger of wet and gliding avalanches as a consequence of warming during the day. Weak layers in the old snowpack necessitate caution.

Avalanche Activity

Slight increase in danger of wet and gliding avalanches as a consequence of warming during the day. Weak layers in the old snowpack necessitate caution.

As a consequence of warming, the natural avalanche activity will gradually increase. In addition a certain danger of gliding avalanches and snow slides exists. The wind slabs remain in some cases prone to triggering in particular on very steep shady slopes above the tree line.

Snowpack Structure

Towards its surface, the snowpack is moist, especially in the south on steep sunny slopes in particular below approximately 2800 m. The fresh wind slabs are lying on weak layers in particular on shady slopes at elevated altitudes, especially on steep west, north and east facing slopes above approximately 2200 m, as well as on steep sunny slopes at elevated altitudes.
