It will be warmer today. The wet snow avalanche hazard will increase as the day warms. Shallow wet loose slides are possible on very steep sunlit aspects during the warmest portion of the day. At the highest elevations isolated pockets of shallow wind slab up to a foot in depth lie upon hard old snow surfaces and could be triggered by humans in steep couloirs, chutes and cliff areas. Even small slides can be dangerous in terrain with consequences.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Conditions will be dry until another cold front passes through the area tomorrow night. Under clear skies, temperatures will fall into the teens and 20’s. Daytime highs will be in the 30’s and 40’s in the mountains and in the 50’s in the valleys. Clouds will begin to increase in the afternoon ahead the cold front. Westerly winds will increase to speeds of 20 to 30 with gusts to 45 miles per hour. The snowpack is mostly stable, and the general avalanche hazard is expected to be low. The wet snow avalanche hazard will increase as the day warms. Shallow wet loose slides are possible on very steep sunlit aspects during the warmest portion of the day. Isolated pockets of shallow wind slab up to a foot in depth could be triggered by ski and snowboard mountaineers on very steep slopes at the highest elevations.
