Avalanche Activity

Individual small avalanches are possible. Weak layers in the old snowpack represent the main danger.

Small avalanches are possible on extremely steep shady slopes. Avalanches can in very isolated cases be released in the old snowpack, in particular by large additional loads. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on extreme shady slopes above approximately 2000 m. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard crust.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack will be generally stable. On sunny slopes no snow is lying below approximately 1800 m. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the centre of the snowpack, especially on shady slopes above approximately 2000 m.
