Avalanche Summary

Nothing was seen or reported today.

Snowpack Summary

You can expect 5-10cm of new snow from Sunday morning's squall. Strong South and SW winds were happening all day on Sunday, so expect new wind slabs near ridgeline and lee features. Under this storm snow, expect a firm crust on all aspects. If the sun shows it's face on Monday, moist snow will develop.

Weather Summary

A mix of sun and cloud with isolated flurries. The alpine high temperature will be -3c, along with ridge winds from the NW at 20km/hr. Freezing level is expected to rise to 2300m.

More details can be found in the Mountain Weather Forecast.

Terrain and Travel Advice

  • Recent wind has varied in direction so watch for wind slabs on all aspects.
  • Avoid thin areas like rock outcroppings where you're most likely to trigger avalanches failing on deep weak layers.
