Avalanche Summary

You could trigger a large avalanche that breaks several feet deep on most slopes around the Park Range and the Flat Top Mountains. The snow may not give warning signs of unstable snow, like cracking or collapsing, before a slope shatters around you. You are more likely to impact deeper weak layers near the margins of a slab or around rocky outcroppings where the snowpack is shallower. Pay attention to steep terrain above you and give yourself plenty of space around these slopes. Slopes less than about 30 degrees offer safer travel options.
