Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche in freshly-drifted snow at higher, more exposed elevations. Look for and avoid rounded pillows of drifted snow around terrain and vegetation breaks, and below ridgelines and cornice features. With an easterly wind component through most of Wednesday, look for stiff, drifted snow in unusual places and on some west-facing terrain.

Avalanches in the newly-drifted snow could trigger a deeper avalanche that breaks on a buried weak layer about two to three feet deep. The most dangerous slopes face northerly and easterly. Sheltered terrain offers safer riding options.
