Points saillants

Instabilities persist in the snowpack at the mid and upper elevations. Strong westerly ridgetop winds and a few inches of light density snow over the past few days have continued to load leeward starting zones. These soft slabs lie upon crusts, faceted layers, and buried surface hoar layers from the October snowpack. Pockets of soft slab up to 18 inches in depth could be human triggered on very steep wind loaded aspects. At the lower elevations insufficient snow depths exist for avalanches to occur.
