Avalanche Summary

Look for wind-drifted features on leeward slopes as prime places to trigger an avalanche. Westerly winds and ample snow have created thick slabs that could entrain enough snow to bury you or take you for a dangerous ride. Though harder to trigger, avalanches that break deeper in the snowpack are still on the menu. You can trigger the entire slope from a shallow spot near rocks, steep rollovers, or the margins of the slab. To help reduce your risk, steer clear of wind-drifted slopes and stick to lower-angle terrain.
