Points saillants

A thin early season snowpack exists above an elevation of 8,000 feet. It is comprised of snow that fell in October and has been subjected to repeated melt-freeze cycles. Surface hoar growth has occured on this old snow surface. This shallow snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. Bare ground exist below an elevation of 8,000 feet.
