Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE in steep wind loaded avalanche prone areas which are underlain by old layers of weak faceted October snow. In these areas dangerous dense slabs up to two feet in depth could be easily triggered. Be aware of terrain traps and avoid steep wind loaded gullies. Avalanches are unlikely in areas not underlain by old snow surfaces.
