Points saillants

Avalanche activity will be unlikely on Thursday. For anybody in the high alpine terrain in the late afternoon, watch for isolated pockets of wind drifted snow that could release; avalanche activity will be very small but could cause you to loose your footing in steep terrain.

Avalanche Discussion

On Wednesday, I found the snow depth in the below treeline zone to max out at around 4" deep. As the trees thinned out, there were a few spots with old wind drifts that were a little deeper. Lee facing slopes near treeline had up to 6-10" of snow depth.  For people venturing into the backcountry on Thursday, obstacles such as rocks and logs probably pose the greatest hazard.
