Points saillants

Warm temperatures are increasing the avalanche hazard. Dense winds slabs could be human triggered at the higher elevations. Cornices are huge. Overhanging portions could be human triggered by the weight of a person or release naturally and trigger a slab avalanche on an underlying slope. Wet slab and wet loose avalanches are possible in very steep terrain. Monitor conditions and avoid avalanche terrain if natural avalanche activity is observed.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Temperatures are forecast to drop into the 20s overnight and rise into the upper 30 and 40’s during the day. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy. Winds will be westerly at 20 with gusts to 30 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE at the higher elevations. Some potential remains for humans to trigger dense hard slabs up to three feet deep in very steep avalanche prone terrain. Cornices are large. Overhanging portions of those cornices could release due to the weight of a person or fail naturally. Wet loose slides are a potential hazard on very steep sunlit slopes and in cliff areas during the warmest portion of the day. The hazard at the lower elevations is expected to be LOW.
