Points saillants

Cornices are weakening and starting to collapse with the wide temperature fluctuations over a day. They are completely unpredictable, so be aware of the overhead exposure.

Problèmes avalancheux

  • Wind Slabs

    • Alpin
    • Limite forestière
    • Sous la limite forestière
    Probabilité
    Possible
    Taille
    1–2
Strong winds are redistributing snow into slabs on sheltered aspects and cross loaded features in the alpine.
  • Deep Persistent Slabs

    • Alpin
    • Limite forestière
    • Sous la limite forestière
    Probabilité
    Unlikely - Possible
    Taille
    2–3
Natural and human triggering is unlikely but it is still a good practice to avoid steep, open, rocky slopes with a shallow snowpack.

Weather Forecast

Cool temperatures, moderate wind and broken skies expected for the day on Sunday. Only a small dusting of snow expected but barely enough to get excited about!

Snowpack Summary

A supportive mid pack consisting of rounded and facetted layers is bridging the weak depth hoar/facet layers that make up the lower snowpack. Some wind slabs are developing in sheltered alpine locations.
