Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of the new snow the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent as the day progresses.

Some new snow above approximately 1500 m. The fresh snow and in particular the wind slabs will be deposited on the quite favourable surface of an old snowpack. These can be released, even by small loads in isolated cases and reach medium size. At high altitude and in the regions exposed to precipitation the likelihood of avalanches is higher. Some mostly small natural avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

Some new snow above approximately 1500 m. The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs will be deposited on the quite favourable surface of an old snowpack.
