SC 23/12/22 Patchy well bonded snow. Deepest in lee locations around NW-NE aspects above 900m. Avalanche hazard Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: The patchy snow cover will remain generally well bonded becoming much firmer at higher elevations. Deepest accumulations will be found in wind sheltered locations particularly around gully tops and corrie rims on North-West to North-East aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A cloudy but dry day is expected. Becoming cooler with the freezing level dropping to be around 550 metres by the end of the afternoon. Winds veering and strengthening to give fresh Easterlies in the the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: A cloudy but dry day with the freezing level around 900 metres. Winds were light from the North-North-East. ObservedSnowStability: There is a well bonded but patchy snow cover on most aspects above 600 metres. Deepest areas are to be found in many wind sheltered locations but particularly on North-West to North-East aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
