Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will be present in mostly steep wind sheltered places on E through S to SE above 900m. During afternoon redistributed snow will rapidly build unstable windslab on Westerly through North to North-Easterly aspects above 900m, where avalanches are likely, localised deposits below this level. Gullies, Coire rims. crag aprons and steep banks affected. Unstable cornices building on these aspects also. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers easing overnight with a mostly dry day expected. Winds moderate strength Northerly overnight backing West to South-West increasing in strength through the afternoon becoming strong to gale force. Freezing level at 200m rising to summit levels by early evening. Observed Weather Influences: Winds, light North-Westerly becoming strong during heavy snow showers. Freezing at Glen levels. Very poor visibility above 700 m or so. ObservedSnowStability: Snow cover at all levels becoming more significant and deep above 800 metres. Very deep unstable windslab is present mainly above 900 metres on East through South to South-Westerly aspects above 900 metres. North, North-East and East aspects also affected due to cross loading. With steep wind sheltered locations such as; gully tops, coire rims, convexities and headwalls affected. The avalanche hazard is Considerable
