Avalanche Summary

The concerns of wet avalanche activity increase into the start of the week and sooner each day. This past week's dense, heavy snow is slow to transition at upper elevations, and you can trigger avalanches in that warming snow on steep slopes. Small wet avalanches in steep rocky terrain and wet, gloppy surface snow are signs of increasing wet avalanche danger.

If you sink more than about 8 inches into cohesionless snow, know that you could trigger an avalanche that gains mass as it travels down the slope. Get in and out of the field early and avoid traveling under or near cornices.
