Avalanche Summary

You can trigger a wet avalanche in rocky, cliffy terrain as water reaches buried weak layers near the ground. If your feet sink deep into wet snow or you notice natural loose avalanches or rollerballs around cliffs, rocks, or trees, avoid traveling on slopes steeper than about 30 degrees to reduce your chances of being caught in a wet avalanche.
