Grand Mesa

There are very few slopes where you can trigger an avalanche, mostly due to an unusually shallow snowpack. The few slopes you should approach with caution are if you find a thin slab of wind-drifted snow in the alpine on north-facing slopes.

There is a great deal of uncertainty with Thursday's storm. Snow totals at upper elevations appear to have decreased, and it is likely the danger will not change until another storm arrives on Saturday.
