Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard remains CONSIDERABLE. Surface slabs up to two feet in depth formed by continuing strong southwest to west winds exist on leeward aspects. Forecasted snow and winds will increase the hazard as the day progresses. In addition, the potential to trigger DANGEROUS deep slabs to the ground remains. Large triggers such as snowmachines high marking in the steep starting zones of major avalanche paths have the best potential to trigger these deeper slides. Helping a friend whose machine is stuck on a steep slope with the potential to avalanche is a leading cause of avalanche fatalities.
