Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will be well bonded and stable. The snow surface will be firm and icy in many areas, with a breakable crust in other locations. New snow deposits are not expected to be significant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Mostly dry with occasional light snow showers which will fall as snow above around 500 metres. Very strong East-South-Easterly winds. The freezing level will rise from 400 metres to around 600 metres though the forecast period. Observed Weather Influences: Occasional light showers fell as snow above around 500 metres. Very strong East-South-Easterly winds on the summits, the freezing level was around 500 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The existing snowpack continues to consolidate and snowpack stability is generally good. The snow surface is firm and icy in many areas with a breakable crust in other locations. New snow amounts are not significant. The avalanche hazard is Low.
