Avalanche Activity

Little snow on the ground, low avalanche danger

Avalanche danger levels are low. Mostly wet slides and, where snow is sufficient, small glide-snow avalanches are possible. Caution urged below glide cracks.

Snowpack Structure

Hardly any fresh snow. At lower altitudes the shallow drifts have dissolved, the snowpack has been weakened by rain impact. Glide-snow avalanches still possible.

Weather Forecast

A cold front will bring precipitation during the nocturnal hours, the snowfall level will descend from 1500m rapidly down to low lying areas. On early Friday morning, final snow showers, variably cloudy skies, and some sunshine. At 2000m: -11 to -8 degrees. Brisk W/NW winds at high altitudes.

Tendency

No significant change expected in avalanche danger levels.
