Avalanche Activity

The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs represent the main danger.

The fresh snow and the wind slabs are poorly bonded with the old snowpack in some places in all aspects. New snow and wind slabs can be released, even by small loads in isolated cases. In all aspects and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls small to medium-sized avalanches are possible as a consequence of the new snow.

Snowpack Structure

In some cases the various wind slabs have bonded poorly. In addition sometimes easily released wind slabs formed adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls in all aspects. Field observations have confirmed that the stability of the snowpack varies greatly within a small area adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. 5 to 10 cm of snow will fall.
