Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Strong west-southwest winds and new snow have formed DANGEROUS slabs up to four feet in depth. These slabs lie on leeward slopes and are expected to be easily triggered today by backcountry users on steep avalanche terrain. Once triggered these slabs have the potential to pull out deeper layers of snow. Yesterday four snowmobilers near Turkey Creek/Indian Creek confluence outside of LaBarge triggered an avalanche in which one rider was caught, partially buried and suffered minor injuries.
