Avalanche Summary

The snowpack is thin in most areas. You may find some isolated spots where you could trigger avalanches near and above treeline in places that catch and hold wind-drifted snow. The most dangerous slopes face north, northeast, and east. Unfortunately, steep slopes with continuous snow cover could produce an avalanche. Avoid pillows of wind-drifted snow on slopes steeper than about 30 degrees, especially below ridgelines or in gully features. Stick to lower-angle terrain as a safer option.
