Avalanche Summary

An Avalanche Watch is in effect for the Park Range. Expect very dangerous conditions to develop by Monday morning and continue into the night.

You can trigger a large and dangerous avalanche on, near, or below steep northerly and easterly-facing slopes at all elevations. Dense slabs of recently fallen snow rest precariously above fragile weak layers near the ground. An avalanche can break larger and wider than you anticipate. Do not ignore clear signs of dangerous conditions like recent avalanches, shooting cracks, or audible collapses. Look for low-angle, wind-sheltered slopes for safer travel options.
