Avalanche Activity

A little new snow above approximately 1000 m. The wind will be strong. These conditions will cause a slight rise in the danger of dry avalanches on steep shady slopes.

The fresh wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads, on steep shady slopes. The avalanche prone locations are to be found especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls above approximately 1800 m.

Snowpack Structure

Snow depths vary greatly at intermediate and high altitudes, depending on the infuence of the wind. In particular at low and intermediate altitudes hardly any snow is lying.
