Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard is HIGH. Dense slabs up to five feet in depth lie upon persistent weak layers of faceted snow and slick rain crusts. Strong winds and new snow will continue to load these unstable slabs. Yesterday a skier died after being buried to a depth of seven feet by an avalanche in the Toilet Bowl area of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Large dangerous avalanches are likely to release naturally and can be triggered by the weight of a single human. TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
