Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche where strong winds and new snowfall created slabs of cohesive snow over a foot thick. Avoid traveling on slopes steeper than about 35 degrees below ridgelines and in areas where you find more than a foot of drifted snow. Safer travel options exist by sticking to wind-sheltered terrain. Warming temperatures towards the weekend will increase the danger for wet avalanche activity.
