Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. DANGEROUS hard slabs one to three feet in depth lie upon a very weak, unstable layer of faceted snow. User triggered avalanches are likely in steep, wind loaded avalanche prone terrain. Beware that recent warming has hardened the snow surface which may allow users to venture further into the avalanche path before triggering the slide or, the second or later person may be the trigger. Being caught in this type of hard slab avalanche will have serious or fatal consequences.
