Points saillants

At upper elevations dense slabs up to two feet in depth lie on steep slopes loaded by West and Southwest winds during our past snow storms. These slabs could be triggered by backcountry users in avalanche starting zones and cliff areas which are underlain by a layer of weak faceted snow. At mid elevaions the possibility of triggering isolated pockets of these slabs exist on steep shaded avalanche paths. Avlanches are unlikely at low elevations where the snowpack is shallow.
