Points saillants

South and east winds have formed pockets of soft slab up to 18 inches in depth in some upper elevation starting zones. These pockets of slab could be human triggered on some steep wind loaded northerly facing starting zones where these slabs lie upon slick early October crusts and a layer of weak faceted snow. Avalanches are unliklely at mid and lower elevations and southerly aspects which are not underlain by these layers and have a very shallow snowpack comprised only of new snow.
