Avalanche Activity

In some localities up to 30 cm of snow will fall above approximately 1500 m. As a consequence of new snow and wind a moderate avalanche danger will prevail.

Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in extremely steep terrain above the tree line. The fresh snow and local mostly small wind slabs represent the main danger. The prevalence of the avalanche prone locations will increase as the day progresses. The natural avalanche activity will only slowly increase. As a consequence of new snow and wind a moderate avalanche danger will prevail. In isolated cases avalanches are medium-sized and can be released also by a single winter sport participant.

Snowpack Structure

The new snow and wind slabs represent the main danger. As a consequence of the new snow small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized avalanches are possible above approximately 1900 m.
