NC for 21/02: Stable patchy snowpack found mostly on N through E to SE aspects above 1000m. Hazard Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will be stable and well bonded throughout. Greatest accumulations will be found on North through East to South-East aspects above 1000 metres. Gullies, coire rims, crag aprons and plateaus holding the greatest amounts. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Very strong South-Westerly winds with no precipitation in the forecast. The freezing level will remain above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with gale force Westerly winds. The freezing level was at 1500 metres around midday. ObservedSnowStability: The remaining snow cover is stable throughout and continues to slowly thaw at all levels. Greatest cover can be found on the highest plateaus and on North through East to South-East aspects above 1000 metres, particularly around coire rims, crag aprons and in gullies. The avalanche hazard is Low.
