Points saillants

As a consequence of warming during the day, the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches being released will increase gradually in particular on steep shady slopes above approximately 2000 m.

Problèmes avalancheux

  • Wet snow

    • Above 1,900 m

Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of warming during the day, the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches being released will increase gradually in particular on steep shady slopes above approximately 2000 m.

The old snowpack remains unfavourable especially on steep shady slopes. The high temperatures as the day progresses will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures and solar radiation the snowpack consolidated. The old snowpack remains weakly bonded especially on very steep shady slopes.

Tendency

The new snow will be deposited on a weakly bonded old snowpack on north facing slopes above approximately 1900 m.
