Avalanche Summary

You could trigger an avalanche above treeline where wind-drifted snow rests on old, weak snow near the ground. Most triggered avalanches will be small, but could still knock you over and take you for a rocky, dangerous ride through rough terrain. Reduce your risk of triggering a slide by avoiding upper elevation north, northeast, and east-facing slopes.
