Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard is HIGH today. Southwest winds have formed new soft slabs up to two feet in depth. These slabs lie upon an unstable snowpack and have potential to step down to weak layers of faceted snow formed in early November. With strong winds and heavy snow in the forecast the hazard will rapidly increase. Natural and human triggered slab avalanches up to three feet in depth are likely to occur today and tonight. TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN IN NOT RECOMMENDED TODAY.
