Points saillants
New snow and strong southerly winds will form new soft slabs on leeward aspects as the day progresses. These new slabs will form on weak layers of surface hoar and light density snow. As slab depths and volumes increase the hazard will increase. Some potential remains for these slabs to step down to a deeper weak layer of buried surface hoar formed in January in steep northerly facing starting zones and cliff areas.
