Salt River and Wyoming Ranges

The avalanche hazard will rise from MODERATE this morning to CONSIDERABLE this afternoon. Exceptional high temperatures and poor overnight cooling continues to weaken the snowpack. As temperatures quickly rise today the crust will soften and the potential for wet avalanches will increase on steep snow covered slopes. Cornices on the high ridge tops have become unstable due to consistent warming and may fall onto slopes and start avalanches. Stay out of runout areas and gullies.
