Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. At higher elevations soft slabs formed by west winds up to a foot in depth rest on leeward aspects. These slabs lie on lighter density snow and a slick hard crust. Riders or skiers who venture into steep wind loaded starting zones could trigger these slabs. Forecasted snowfall amountsa will increase the hazard through the day. Warm temperatures and possible rain at low elevations are heating the snowpack where the potential to release wet slides on steep snow covered slopes continues.
