Avalanche Summary

Dangerous avalanche conditions exist. One to three feet of new snow now rest on a variety of weak layers. You can easily trigger an avalanche on many steep slopes. In some areas, these avalanches could fail on deeply buried weak layers near the ground and grow large enough to break trees and hit the valley floor. The easiest way to avoid being caught in an avalanche is to avoid traveling on or underneath any steep slopes that have over a foot and a half of new snow. If you do travel in avalanche terrain, manage your terrain very carefully, choose small, manageable terrain, and travel one at a time across any steep slopes.
