Points saillants

Strong southwest winds have formed soft slabs up to two feet in depth on leeward aspects. Yesterday backcountry skiers triggered pockets of soft surface slab at an elevation of 9,000 feet on a north aspect of Disappointment Peak and in the lower portion of the West Hourglass Couloir (northeast aspect at an elevation of 9,900 feet). Slabs gained volume overnight and could be human triggered today by skiers on steep slopes with fresh deposits of wind-blown snow.
