Avalanche Activity

The fresh snow and the extensive wind slabs represent the main danger.

In particular in gullies and bowls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain easily released wind slabs will form. Skiers can release avalanches very easily, including large ones. Remotely triggered and natural avalanches are probable.

Snowpack Structure

The snowfall will give rise as the day progresses to unfavourable bonding of the snowpack over a wide area in particular on steep slopes. The fresh wind slabs are difficult even for the trained eye to recognise and to be assessed with care and prudence.
